I was preaching on the corner of Central boulevard at Metro-town station area last Sunday (May 7th 2017) afternoon. It was a beautiful sunny day. I saw a fair looking young man coming towards me. I started to preach the good news to the crowds with my eyes on his direction.
He smiled and told me that he believes nothing really. before I wanted to share more good news with him, there came an adult who is about 50 years old with good clothes and clean look. He looked at my protesting board and started to shout at me. "Praise the Lord for what you are doing. He is a Great and awesome God." I was astonished to hear what he proclaimed as not many people stopped like the way he did. He continued to tell us his story without stopping.
"Look at me now. I have a job, and rent a house. I was on the street and an addict to drugs. I was hopeless and homeless three years ago. One day when I was in a rehab center, I knelled down and cried out to Him with tears. Suddenly, my mind returned back to me and I was sober. Now, I have a job and live like a new man. " I told him, "Praise the Lord for his mercy on you." "Yes, thank this Living God who heard my cry and healed me. " "Praise the Lord." Then I turned to the young man who was listening astonishingly to his story too. He was shocked and stood in awe. He knew that we were not playing a show but that was what happened in a moment of his life. I told him that this awesome experience of God's love can be his if he starts to believe. He was speechless and went to cross the street as the traffic light turned to green. I repeated my words to him," This awesome experience of our living God can be yours if you believe." I saw he was excited by punching his fist in a lower position. it was a Yes from his body language.
Praise be to our living God as he saves and heals.
